Meet the Staff

Jamie Segal

M.S. CCC-SLP

Clinical Director & Speech-Language Pathologist

Jamie relocated to San Diego from northern Virginia.  She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Northeastern University and her Masters of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from James Madison
University.   
 
Jamie has gained experience working with people across the lifespan with a wide variety of disorders, delays and disabilities. Jamie now specializes in working with the pediatric population.  Her areas of expertise include: articulation, motor planning disorders, language delays, phonological processing delays, fluency, pragmatic language and social thinking. Jamie provides comprehensive speech and language evaluations, individual speech and language therapy and runs several social groups starting as young as 3 years old through 16 years old.  
 
At Segal Speech and Language Therapy we strongly believe in creating a warm and supportive environment that promotes creativity in exploring ways to best allow the child to grow.  We create individualized treatment plans, strongly believe in collaboration and work closely with the child's family.

Marlee Thornton

M.S. CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Marlee is a licensed speech-language pathologist who received her Masters of Science
degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Wyoming.
 
Marlee has experience working with all ages and populations, from
early intervention up through high-school aged adolescents. She is well versed in working with children and adolescents who have a difficult time with narrative language, receptive and expressive language delays, articulation, fluency, and pragmatic language. Marlee also leads therapies for our under 3 early intervention population.

 

Marlee’s kind and patient demeanor makes rapport building easy and creates an environment that the child looks forward to visiting and learning.

Occupational Therapy

Segal Speech is fortunate enough to share space and work collaborativley with Jontue Koff of AtPlay Occupational Therapy. Jontue is certified in the Sensory Integration Praxis Test (SIPT) and the SOS Feeding Approach. Jontue provides comprehensive assessments, individual therapy and group therapy. Jontue works with children who may have gross or fine motor delays, difficulties with self-regulation, visual motor delays, sensory integration delays and children who need support with feeding development.
